    Nice feedback from the research.

    As you said many people don't even know about things like Twitter. Companies however have so many resources you would think they would at least be clued into whats going.

    Moving into the future companies will truly need to learn how to manage these types of resources if they are to compete. I'm sure we will be seeing even more applications appearing to further these types of interactions.

    Very cool idea - thanks for the shout out. We were talking in a meeting this aft just how green twitter is and speculating how long it might take before it goes mainstream.We're pioneering a new internal twitter like service called yammer which allows us to connect with our larger team. It's been fun to watch folks jump on and play around with their tweet style - albeit a bit distracting ;) cheers

    just wondering why a lot of companies don't follow me back on twitter.

    makes me feel like they don't care about me.

    I mean it is annoying to follow thousands of people, but still--show you care

    Great post and thanks for the mention, Matt. I started the Brand Index (now at socialbrandindex.com) in order to track and hopefully identify a list of attributes shared by great twitter users.

    It's unfortunate companies chose to not engage you during your experiment. BTW, it would be great if you included metrics (e.g. number of companies, time to a response, length of interaction).

    Thanks, Matt, for pointing me to your post as well. Interesting experiment; try it again in 6 months and see what happens. Better, get several of us to try it and track the results. :)
